Reconciliation During the Great Fires

Refusing heaven, his life
failure, the man in the black coat turns,
walking slow, into the early hours:
the sentinel unsettled.

Why are you so sad? Surrender
the possible past, pure product.
Track and trace the breath
you take from the lord.
